Ask people what first comes to mind when they think of the London borough of Enfield, and it isn’t often a thriving food community. But it should be.
Not convinced? Be sure to note August Bank Holiday, Sunday 26th and Monday 27th in your diary, and visit the Enfield Food Festival. Held at Forty Hall Farm, with its market garden, community orchard and vineyard, it is the perfect place for a celebration of local food.
So, with just one month to go, I’ve been talking to some of the people who make Enfield’s food scene so exciting. First up is Matthew, who was prompted by a seed catalogue to make a dramatic career change.
