Art, Design and a non-Private View

Milan’s Triennale museum in Parco Sempione near Cadorna is one of my favourite places in the city. A centre for design, architecture and contemporary art, it shows ever changing exhibitions rather than a permanent collection and is inspiringly curated with thought-provoking, intriguing and revelatory exhibits.

During a short visit in March we visited two exhibitions on their final day. First was urban design, with architect husband reliably providing a masterful personal commentary. Then a short coffee break upstairs at the Osteria con Vista, the museum’s restaurant. Run by Stefano Cerveni who owns the Ristorante Due Colombe Al Borgo Antico in Borgonato, it (unsurprisingly) has a terrace with a view. Staff were charming and it was a shame we didn't have time to eat there. We did manage to return after visiting the fashion exhibition for an expertly served Americano though. Milan at its best.
